Transportation
Airports serving the area are located in Venice (Marco Polo), Treviso, Trieste and Ljubljana.
There will be hotel shuttles from/to Venice Marco Polo and Gorizia train station for those who signed up. The driver will have a big sign for HOTEL SAN MARTIN and NON LINEAR CONFERENCE. The airport is small and the driver will wait at the arrivals gate with this sign. In case of changes or something special, please call +386 51 335 660, which will be available at all times.
If you have not filled out the form for the hotel shuttle but still need a shuttle please contact the hotel directly, but note that they might not be able to provide additional transfers on late notice.
Alternative shuttle service from local airports to Smartno can be booked through GOOPTI, but prices may vary.
Accommodation
The conference main venue is the boutique Hotel San Martin, on the edge of medieval village Smartno. The hotel is exclusively reserved for the conference, and it will accommodate a large number of the participants. The conference room is also located in the hotel.
The price for six nights, all included, will be around 700EUR for double occupancy rooms. A limited number of single rooms are available at an additional cost of 120EUR. If you have booked your own accommodation elsewhere, the price for the fees/all meals/excursions is 400EUR.
This price also includes several activities. We are still working out the details of the non-scientific program. Similarly to last year, it will include excursions and degustations. We recommend to make travel arrangements to arrive on Sunday (July 15) in the afternoon and leave on Saturday (July 21) in the morning. The workshop starts on Sunday evening with a reception at the hotel. This year's conference dinner will be dedicated to celebrate Ed Bertschinger's 60th birthday in the circle of former students, post docs and collaborators. It will take place on Friday (July 20) in Vila Vipolže.
