Overview
Upcoming and future spectroscopic surveys (e.g. DESI, PFS, Euclid, WFIRST) will expand the cosmic volumes probed with galaxy redshifts by orders of magnitude. With their unprecedented statistical precision, these surveys have the potential to precisely measure the growth of structure, constrain dark energy, measure the sum of neutrino masses, and constrain inflation.
In this workshop, we aim to bring experts together and discuss how we can best tackle the challenges that limit the scientific value of these spectroscopic surveys as well as new ideas to increase their science output. We hope to have talks, informal discussions, and lively debates on variety of topics including
- developments in perturbation theory models,
- emulator and other simulation based methods,
- BAO and reconstruction methods,
- observational systematics,
- covariance matrix estimation,
- and future spectroscopic surveys.
