Overview

Weak gravitational lensing has emerged as an important probe to test models of cosmology, galaxy physics and gravity. Stage-IV Galaxy and CMB surveys aim to measure the lensing power spectra with signal to noise ratio of few hundred.

With such high statistical precision, developing new methods to optimally extract information as well as to control systematic biases in the lensing measurements and their inference, at a level below the statistical uncertainties presents an immediate challenge to the community. This workshop aims to bring together the experts from both Galaxy lensing and CMB lensing communities to discuss several of the challenges that can limit the scientific value derived from the lensing measurements. We will also have sessions on new ideas that can increase the science output from these surveys. We hope to have a lively debate about the past and ongoing efforts in both Galaxy and CMB lensing communities and identify the paths forward.

The format of the workshop will be aimed at facilitating informal discussions. Topics will include observational systematics in galaxy lensing such as shear calibration and photometric redshifts, observational systematics in CMB lensing including CMB foregrounds and modelling uncertainties on small scales including the effects of baryonic physics and galaxy-halo connections. Talks will happen in Campbell Hall 131.

Breakfast, lunch and poster sessions will be in room 355 and BCCP commons area next to it.

The reception and dinner on Monday, January 14, will take place on the roof (6th floor) of Campbell Hall, starting at 6pm.
